I got the chance to watch this on YouTube. If the interviewer is a “libertarian,” then I am “communist.” It is obvious that Mr. Maher was trying to trap Dr. Paul as some kind of fringe lunatic, but failed because Ron Paul is in a whole different class then he himself is in.
I think it would instead be more accurate to label Bill Maher as the communist. He's one of these people that thinks it's cool to label themselves libertarian, without changing any of their statist views (think Neal Boortz). Though in his defense, when he was on Politically Incorrect (during the Clinton administration at least) he did seem far more liberty minded.
I believe the good Dr. Paul will be on CNN in the next few days.
